My little sister on Myspace
what should i do? well i know what i should do. i'm just going to have to be the bad guy.so i'm at my dad's house watching my 16 yr old step brother, 12 and 5 year old sisters while my dad and step mom are out of town. so i guess i'm being the mean baby sitter having them not to use the net or watch TV because they need to bring their grades up. so i go int he room and my step brother is on the computer. he's supposed to be doing his homework, but i see he's on Myspace. so he minimizes it, and i'm like what's that, and i click to see he's on it. i ask if my dad knows he's on it, he says no. and i look at his friend's list, and he says one girl is our lil sister. she also left a comment on his page saying "hello brother". i'm like what? so we click on the page. she has someone elses pic up, and has on the page that she's 18. i'm thinking wtf?
so i look at her comments, no one left nothing sexual. i see she has 133 people on her friends list. she has on there that she loves Pretty Ricky (they suck anyways, but whatever). she has her page hooked up. my step brother said he didn't know about myspace and that she told him about it and helped him to fix his page up. i'm like wtf? so i didn't want to tell her that he told me she had a page.
so i'm being a nosey big sister, i'm looking through her book bag and purse (which i don't feel she needs to have a purse, that's too grown for her, but whatever), and i see the myspace link on a sheet of paper. also in her notebook she had a note that her and her friend was passing in class. now this lil girl is trying to play me saying that wasn't her handwriting, but she ain't fooling me cuz i already knew, and it had on the paper that Pretty Rickey was on her Myspace page. she said her friend wrote that and she doesn't have a Myspace page. see she already lying to me but i already knew.
also to be sure, i logged onto myspace to type in her name and the page comes up with her name. so i'm debating what to do, if i should tell my dad right away, or wait until they get bad. i really don't want my dad to snap off on her, but i can't let this pass. i was like well maybe we should set her up, make up a fake page and ask to meet her, to see if she would, so that she could see the danger of Myspace, do that to her before some perv does that, or if i should just tell her. my boyfriend told me to tell my dad, and i'm already like yeah i should.
so it's still bothering me, and it's scary, cuz i'm like if i didn't catch my step brother on myspace and if he didn't tell me, this lil girl would be still logging on there ike she 18. now i'm mad cuz my step brother is 16, why would he let her have a page saying she 18 and not tell? that's silly, but i guess he didn't want to tell on her. and it's scary that she knew how to do all of this stuff.
so later on last night, i have the paper i found in her purse, and i log on myspace, and i ask her what's that, and she says it's her friend myspace. so i say, well let me see if her brother has a page, and i find him, and i look at his list. now she's looking scared, and i say someones calling him brother who's that? and she says that that's her page but she doesn't use it anymore and haven't used it in a while because my dad told her to don't use that site. now mind you it says she logged on on Nov 3rd, and yesterday was the 6th. i click on the page, and i ask her why she got a fake pic up and why she put her age at 18. she says well that's her friend sister pic and that she put 18 because they wouldn't let her put 12. so i'm like ok, and thinking (well she couldve at least put 14 or whatever the age you gotta be to sign up, but whatever). and she's looking all cared, and i'm like "i thought you said this was your friends page", and she's like "we just used it to talk to each other, but we don't use it anymore because there could be rapist". so i'm like it says you just logged on. and she said since her and her brother use the same email, it logs her on when he logs on. that was a lie, cuz he was logged on yesterday and his last log on said the 6th and her's said the 3rd. but she told me she hasn't used it in weeks.
lies lies lies!!!!! why does she think she could fool me? i was 12 years old before! she ain't fooling me at all! the only thing is that i didn't have the Internet. oh the Internet was probably out then, or whatever, but it wasn't as popular as it is now back in 94', not everyone had it. so this whole thing is just scary. i asked her how she knew how to fix her page up, she said it was simple and she used the Pimp my Page editor. i'm like wtf? i know grown people who don't know how to fix their page, but you have this 12 year old saying it's simple.
so i'm like pissed, i want to whoop her butt, but i won't. i will leave this up to my dad and step mother when they get back. the thing is that i don't know how they're going to talk to her. if they're just going to scream at her and not actually talk about it, or if they'll sit down and talk about it then punish her. she said she didn't cancel it because she didn't know how to. i'm like oh now she's all of a sudden want to cancel it. i told her to log in and let me see her messages. she said why, she didn't want me to. i asked her if our father knew her age on the page was 18 and if he seen the page. she said no and asked me not to tell.
i'm sorry. i'm just going to have to be the bad guy. i know that she's going to hate me when i tell and might not want to talk to me anymore, but i just can't let this pass. i would never forgive myself if something was to happen to her from her meeting someone from the net. so now her and my step brother may get in trouble. i told him to be prepared. he might get in trouble because he knew she had that she was 18 on her page. i told my daddy that he needs to take the computer out of their room. my dad regulates when he's hear but he works a lot, and my step mother doesn't pay attention like she should to them. she really needs to watch them on the Internet, or turn it off period.
also she had like 22 year old men on her friends list. i mean she probably wasn't talking sexual to them, but she could get them in trouble too because they think she's 18 and they're like 22. wtf? i really want to whoop her butt for that! man, i'm getting pissed thinking about it. i told her to stop asking me to delete the page because i'm not. i'm going to show my dad and step mother, and then i'm going to ask them to not just scream at her, but to listen, ou know tell her the dangers of that. i found an article about a 13 year old girl who said she was 18 on her myspace too and read it to my sister. i'ma post that link. but yeah, there's alot of lil kids doing this and it's scary!

what do you guy's think? do any of you have any 12 and up siblings or lil cousins or children? be careful, because they know alot more about the net than you think. sorry for all the typos because i know i got alot, i just typed all this in 5 minutes.
